Lucid Motors now has their AIr Pure, Touring and Grand Touring models of their award winning luxury EV sedans available for the general public to drive to experience for themselves their quietness, performance, and acceleration on the road.
We paid a visit to the new Lucid Motors parking area where their charging stations are filled with an assortment of Lucid Air models available for test drives.
Located in the lower parking structure at the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall in Phoenix, Arizona, the public can now get the opputunity to walk around, sit inside, and test drive different models of their luxury Lucid Air electric cars.
VIsitors who wish to take a test drive must be 18 years old and have a valid drivers license. An apointment needs to be scheduled first by going online and filling out a Lucid test drive request form, then a representative will get ahold of you.
We counted at least 6 Lucid Air models in various configurations available for test drives at this location.
You can also get familiar with Lucid's charging equipment and plug in cable, since the cars are parked directly at the charging stations when not on test drives. Lucid electric cars use the industry-standard SAE J1772 connector in North America.
A variety of available colors and wheel styles are represented in the line up of available test drive cars.
The dual motor, all wheel drive, 480 hp Lucid Air pure is the latest model of the sedan lineup, with a 36 months lease price point starting at $82,400. The 620 hp Lucid Air Touring model starts at $95,000. And the 819 hp Grand Touring model starts at $125,600.
Some of these cars also have custom graphic lettering on the sides and rear indicating they're a test drive car. There is also a QR barcode on the side that can be scanned with your cell phone for test drive information.
The California bear symbol on the side of this Lucid Air model gives praise to the Engineers that designed it in Newark, California, at Lucid's headquarters. However, all Lucid Air electric car production models are currently assembled in the state of Arizona - just one hour down the I-10 freeway south of the Phoenix metro, in the town of Casa Grande, at Lucid's AMP-1 assembly plant.
The lucid Air was awarded MotorTrend magazine's "Car of the Year" in 2022 for it's amazing performance and acceleration, and record breaking range on a single charge.
The Lucid Air Pure model has scripted branding on the rear roof column's stlyish chome trim.
This Lucid Air is a pearl white color which Lucid calls "Stellar White".
These are commercial charging units made for the Lucid Test drive area that also feature area lighting. For home charging solutions, Lucid Motors offers customers of their electric cars a wall mountable "Connected Home Charging Station" which draws 80 amps of power.
Lucid Motors is currently offering it's EV customers six color choices in metallics: Eureka Gold, Stellar White, Infinite Black, Cosmos Silver, Quantum Grey, and Zenith Red (pictured here).
Lucid's sporty 19" "Aero Range" wheels with Pirelli tires come standard on the Air models. Larger 20" and 21" wheel and tire upgrades are available. 19-inch wheels give you the longest range between charging, but the 21-inch wheels give you the best speed and handling performance.
Lucid's aerodynamic body styling is seen as viewed from front and back. Lucid Engineers designed the Air models to have a drag coefficient of just 0.197, making it the most aerodynamic car on sale.
Sales representatives are available right inside the mall at the Lucid Studio showroom to answer any questions you may have, and their are usually one or more Lucid AIr models inside if you want to come in and get out of the Phoenix heat. Also inside you can see examples of paint color finishes and interior choices.
Visitors to the Lucid showroom are assisted by knowledgable sales representatives to fully explore all the features of the Lucid AIr Pure EV, both from the exterior, and interrior. On the wall in the background is an informational display showing a comparison of the specifications of the three Lucid Air models now availabe for purchase - Pure, Touring and Grand Touring (GT).
Inside the Lucid showroom are a couple of their Air Pure sedans on display, as well as technology displays where you can examine up-close their battery module composed of lithium-ion battery cells, the Wunderbox on-board charging unit, and a high performance electric motor drive unit used in their electric cars.
