The Polestar 2 hatchback gives new competition to the Tesla Model 3
The Polestar 2 EV is made by Polestar, a Swedish electric performance car company owned by Volvo and Geely. The company was founded in 2009 and has since been working to create electric vehicles with a focus on performance and sustainability.
The Polestar 2 EV is the first fully electric vehicle from the company and is made with the same attention to detail and quality that Volvo is known for. It is designed to be a luxurious and sporty electric vehicle that can compete with the likes of Tesla and other electric vehicle manufacturers.
We paid a visit to Scottsdale Arizona to get see the 2021 Polestar 2 electric car on display. Polestar is a sub brand of Swedish car maker Volvo, and chinese automaker Geely. The Polestar electric car brand is Volvo's push to electrify its entire car lineup by 2025.
Unlike the original Polestar 1 that was a plug-in hybrid, the Polestar 2 is all electric. The Polestar 2 competes directly with Tesla model 3 in the growing electric car market. It is currently being built in Luqiao China. The upcoming Polestar 3 SUV EV is planned to be built at their Ridgeville, South Carolina manufacturing plant.
The Polestar 2 is offered with a 78 kWh battery pack. The Front-wheel drive, single motor option of the Polestar 2 puts out 231 hp and has a EPA range of 265 miles on a single charge. The All-wheel drive performance "Launch" version of the Polestar 2 is powered by two electric motors producing a combined 408 hp with 487 ft. lbs. of torque, with EPA range estimated at 233 to 249 miles.

The touch pad display in the Polestar 2 s centered to allow use by both driver, and front passenger. Displayed on the screen are driver performance, navigation maps, climate control, and entertainment, running on a Native Android OS (a first for EV makers).

The Polestar 2 with performance package is fitted with Brembo brakes, and their 20" forged alloy rims which gives this EV a sporty look for a four door hatchback.
Looking down on the Polestar 2, you can appreciate the cars sporty body lines, and the cool factor of the all glass roof. The black paint with tan leather seats gives this car a classy look.
Polestar will soon have a their own dedicated showroom space located in the Scottsdale Fashion Square, coming soon, as this life size mural of a Polestar 2 shows. Right now the car is on display in the main atrium area of the lower floor of the mall. Guests are encouraged to sit inside the car and fully check it out. (Update Aug 2023 - Polestar now has their own retail showroom inside the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall)
