35mm Kodak slides of company presentation by Sierra Microsystems documenting the steps taken to design a computer chip from start to finish, including wafers being designed on early CAD systems, being test probed, and being put in a reflow furnace. Sierra Microsystems, a small start-up VLSI (Very large scale) Integrated Circuit design firm in Tahoe CA., was looking for investors for funding a new business of developing an RSA security cryptosystem on a chip around 1983. Slides include images include custom chip production at a now defunct wafer foundry called Citel, located in Santa Clara. In1983, there was a merger of Monosil , Inc. and Citel , Inc.. Citel's Products include custom metal oxide semiconductors. universal programmable memory device programmers, and bipolar integrated circuits. |
